Campaign Brief Asia’s 2024 Creative Rankings: Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur moves up to #1 as the most awarded agency in Malaysia with Ogilvy at #2

Leo Burnett KL has been one of the most consistent performing Malaysian agencies over recent years in the Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings. The agency ranked #2 in the three previous Creative Rankings, and in 2018 they were #1.

2024 was a big year for the agency, winning awards at international shows including Cannes Lions and LIA. They also won at One Asia, THE WORK and picked up two Grand Prix awards at MAD Stars.

Their most awarded campaign was the agency’s clever Chinese New Year work for Heineken, ‘Heidden in Plain Sight.’

Ogilvy ranks #2 this year, and like Leo Burnett, has performed strongly across award shows in 2024. Ogilvy picked up awards at One Asia, LIA 24, D&AD 24, Spikes Asia 24 + 23, Clio 24 + 23, THE WORK 24 and ADFEST 23.

At #3 is Havas Malaysia, whose awards have all come at 2024 award shows. Their strongest performance was at Spikes Asia. They also were recognised at ADFEST, MAD Stars and THE WORK.

Pedictably Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur’s ‘Heidden In Plain Sight” creative team has figured prominantly in the Creative Rankings of individual Malaysian creatives. The team fills the top 5 spots on the ranking chart.

In top spot is David HK Tan, only 15 points ahead of Vickknesh Raj (#2). At #3 is Jing Jie Chang and ranking #4 is Poon See Hian.

2023’s #1 most awarded Malaysian creative, Jaz Lee, ranks #6 this year followed by Havas CCO, Donevan Chew at #7,

Equal #8 is Havas trio Dhabitah Zainal, Nuwai Zabid and Syakir Ariffin. THE SHOUT GROUP/FCB SHOUT’s Jonathan Chan is ranked #11
