PRO-NET, a subsidiary of Malaysian automotive company, PROTON, has appointed boutique agency The Clan Malaysia to handle its social media management. The Clan will be working on creating and executing campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
The agency is tasked to not only increase awareness for the brand within an expanding market, but also to differentiate the brand amongst its competitors by getting Malaysians inspired for a more innovative future.
The Clan's appointment begins from March and the contract is slated for a period of one year with the option to expand by another year. The agency will only be handling only the Malaysian market as part of this contract for now.
PRO-NET will spearhead sales and distributorship of smart electric vehicles (EVs) and its own future new EV offerings following the signing of a general dealer agreement with Smart Automobile. According to PROTON, sales of smart electric vehicles are slated to being in the fourth quarter of this year. A top priority for the company will be the deployment of charging solutions for customers and current plans call for the deployment of a home-based and public charging network.
The agency's creative chief, Casey Loh, stated that the creative team is looking forward to pushing the boundaries of the horizons of the brand and how they can be pushed through different avenues that will raise the profile of the brand in a growing and competitive EV space. “From cementing its positioning as a premium car brand to creating a community of engaged fans, our task is to bring to life the deeply thoughtful philosophy of the brand which is rooted in design and immersive brand experience,” he added.
“We are delighted to be given this opportunity to be part of this journey with PRO-NET in promoting a sustainable future and advancing the adoption of electric vehicle,” said Syed Nasir, business chief at The Clan.
In January this year, The Clan appointed its new executive creative director, Yow Kuan Wai. Yow told A+M in an interview that he joined The Clan in the midst of its transformation, both from its creative culture to its business model. “It’s smart and fresh. And it’s cool to be at ground zero of all this,” he added.
In October last year, Salawati binti Mohd Yusoff took on the added role of chief brand officer at PRO-NET. Operations staff will consist of external hires from various industries.
